August 28th,

It’s early! Well, for me anyway. I’m up on this nice Monday morning when typically, I would still be asleep, #nightshiftproblems. Anyway, I’m up because this journal entry is supposed to come out today so hopefully, I can get this out to my assistant ASAP and get it published soon.

Today should be a special day, for those following the journey, you know my brother and I have been working on opening a cell phone repair shop and we’ve finally signed a lease. Later today, we start setting up the shop and I should be happy only, my excitement has been dulled as of late. Just a week ago I got served…

Now I wish I could say that I lost a dance battle, but I can’t. I got served… A court summons… I’m getting sued y’all! Seems some bad choices in my past have caught up to me. I’ll explain, back in my early 20s, I got a few credit cards and as most young adults with credit cards do, I racked up quite a bit of debt. Twice even. The first time I racked up about $10k in debt and was fortunate to have my parents put it on their own line of credit with low interest, which of course I’ve been paying off. Then the second time, I racked up about $12k in debt which I paid down to about $9k. All was well and good with making payments then in late 2013, I lost my job and only source of income.

I was unemployed for 8 months so naturally, all my credit cards went to collections where they’ve been for the last few years. Coming back from unemployment was a long road for me, to be honest.

This past year has been the one that marked me finally getting back on my feet so it sucks that now, that all is in jeopardy.

Because of the law suit, all my business dealings have to be put on hold. But there is some hope, I lawyered up so I could attempt to negotiate a deal. And if not, I have options… Given the nature of this issue, I can’t really say more so let’s just hope for the best.

Now for some good news.

We’ve finally hired a full crew at work so no more 6-day weeks for me! Also once I’m done training up all the new people, I’ll be able to switch back to working mornings instead of graveyard. So far, that looks to be a goal that I’ll hit in October or so. I just recently got a physical as well and my blood pressure came back in the ideal range even though I’m about 60 lbs overweight. I’m not gonna say that’s due to drinking Kangen water almost exclusively but that’s the only part of my diet that’s changed in the last year and I don’t exercise sooooo… you tell me what happened there.

Anyway, that’s about it for this month. Stay tuned for my monthly income report to see how I did on my goals and be on the lookout for new fun things I’m doing next month for my email list subscribers.

See ya around!
